The edible cartridges used in this system contain enough ink to produce approximately 80 to 100 A4 prints depending on the image being printed. Our edible inks are manufactured in a UK lab using 100% EC approved food ingredients, and are essentially a very thin sheet of flavorless icing, white in color and affixed to a plastic backing sheet to make it possible to handle and pass through the printer. When printed, fully dry, and removed from the backing sheet the edible icing is extremely pliable and manageable without cracking or tearing.
Cartridges can be replaced individually thus making this a very affordable and economical solution. Our edible inks are completely safe for human consumption and are made from 100% EC approved ingredients, and have been successfully tested and approved as safe to eat by Health and Safety in the UK. A complete list of ingredients is printed on each packet of edible icing, along with an expire date for all ink and paper.
Our range of edible icing sheets will last for 18 months if stored as instructed, and our ink has a shelf life of 12 months and can be safely left in the printer, or if not used for long periods should be removed and stored to stop the print heads from drying out.
